Problem Statement
The product challenge was unusually complex: build a single platform that served two completely different users without feeling like two different products. A startup founder setting up their first structured hiring process needs simplicity, speed, and zero learning curve. An enterprise HR director at a Fortune 500 company needs role-based access controls, white-label capability, and analytics that translate test data into C-suite-ready hiring recommendations.
Most HR platforms chose one and sacrificed the other. SimplifiedIQ needed both, and the product UX had to make that sophistication feel effortless rather than overwhelming. The AI layer added another dimension: generating assessment questions automatically is powerful, but only if users trust what it produces. Building that trust into the interface was as important as the AI itself.
Solution
Three core systems were designed and built. First, a scalable assessment builder with AI-powered question generation: an interface that let a founder build a professional assessment in 45 minutes without a template library, while giving enterprise teams the customization depth they required.
Second, role-based access architecture designed for complex organizational hierarchies, department-level permissions, manager views, candidate-facing portals, and admin oversight, built so enterprise clients could self-configure without engineering support.
Third, an analytics dashboard that translated raw assessment data into interpretable hiring signals: performance distributions, benchmark comparisons, and role-fit scores that gave HR teams evidence to bring into hiring conversations with confidence.
Outcome & Results
SimplifiedIQ reached enterprise adoption faster than most platforms at its stage. Within six months of launch, 25 enterprise clients had signed, including Deloitte, KPMG, government agencies, and NGOs. Weekly active users reached 100,000.
Assessment creation time dropped from two weeks to 35 minutes. Platform retention sat at 92%, a number that reflects how deeply the product integrated into hiring workflows rather than sitting at the periphery.
Over two million assessments were processed, and clients reported 38% improvement in hiring quality measured against their own internal benchmarks.
